Scholastic Book Fair
Is coming to Lake Stevens Middle School. It will be held in The Media Center on Friday September 11 to Thursday September 17.

The Book Fair will be held in room 129 on September 17.

Mission:
To Provide excellence in library media resources, services and facilities. To facilitate the learning of information skills. To stimulate student, parent, school and community partnerships.

Admission:
We welcome students to visit the media center throughout the school day. During school hours, signed agendas or teacher passes are required stating the purpose of the visit. Teacher may send up to five students at a time for compouter use, to check out a book or to read. When a student enters the media center with a pass or an agenda it should be given to the media specialist.

Circulation:
Students may check out two books at a time for a period of two weeks. Students may renew or reserve a book. Students should know their student ID# in order to check out a book. The due date will be stamped inside the book. Alate fee of fove cents a day will be assessed for overdue books. If a book is destroyed or lost, the patron is responsible for the replacement cost.

Destiny:
Miami-Dade Public School now has a web based online catalogue. You can access this catalogue from school, home or any computer internet access. The address for DESTINY is http://destiny.dadeschools.net

Databases:
Miami-Dade County offers a variety of reference databased such as Grolier, Facts on File, World Book, Sirs and Gale. They can be accessed from any computer. Ask the library media specialist for the user name and password. The address is: http://it.dadeschools.net/library/sec_resources.htm

Courtesy:
Each person in the Library Media Center is there to read, to do school work, or special assigments. Therefore, courtesy is important, and talking loud unnecessary. Please remember that gum, candy, drinks, and food are not permitted in the Library Media Center.
